The store Styggedalstind is a mountain in the mountain range Hurrungane , the southwestern part of the mountain range Jotunheimen . It is part of the Styggedals- og Skagastølsryggen mountain ridge and is located in the Norwegian municipality of Luster , Province ( Fylke ) Vestland . With 2387 moh. is the eastern end of the fourth highest elevation of Norway . The western tip reaches a height of 2380 moh. The mountain is made up of gabbro rock. In Luster municipality, however, Store Skagastølstind is an even higher mountain.
In 1883 the Styggedalstind store was first climbed by the Danish mountaineer Carl Hall and his Norwegian guide Mathias Soggemoen . The mountain can be climbed from both the east and west side.
