The Hietzing – Rodaun tram line is a section of the Vienna tram and runs from the Hietzing underground station to Rodaun . It is the last of what was once three express tram routes in the city.

history

In 1883 the steam tramway Krauss & Comp. the first steam tramway line between the Viennese suburb of Hietzing, which was incorporated in 1892, and Perchtoldsdorf, south of Vienna . In 1887 the line was extended south to Mödling . In 1912 the line to Mauer was electrified, and from there to Mödling in 1921; today it runs as line 60 from Vienna's Westbahnhof to Rodaun ( 23rd district ). A branch line ran from Hietzing to Ober-St.-Veit from 1887–1908 (like Hietzing in the 13th district since 1892). This line was not operated continuously after electrification.

business

The Hietzing – Rodaun line was congruent with line 60 until September 2, 2017, before it was extended to Westbahnhof. Line 10 also runs between Dornbach and Unter-St.-Veit , and line 62 from Karlsplatz to Lainz .
