Strange and Beautiful is the third music album by the American heavy metal band Crimson Glory . It was recorded after guitarist Ben Jackson and drummer Dana Burnell left the band. It was also the only album that was released on Atlantic Records . Crimson Glory radically broke with the previous style. On the album, which no longer belongs to the heavy metal genre, saxophones and female gospel choirs can be heard, the compositions are blues - and groove-oriented .

Reviews
Due to the radical change in the direction of the band, the album fell through with listeners and critics alike and severely damaged the image of the band. There was widespread talk of a sell-off in favor of rapid commercial success. The majority of fans turned away from Crimson Glory, disappointed. In addition to the radical break in style, which offended many fans, the lack of concept and arbitrariness of the compositions were consistently the focus of criticism.
"The band (...) wanted to do something different, demonstrate some creative growth, diversify, whatever - simply to earn their big new paychecks (...) In an attempt to commercialize their sound while retaining their" progressive "edge , the group ended up abandoning many of the qualities which had brought them this far (...) Not surprisingly, Strange and Beautiful merely lived up to the first half of its title, and succeeded only in alienating the band's loyal fan base.
(The band wanted something new, wanted to demonstrate creative growth, expand, whatever - just to earn their new fat checks (...) Trying to commercialize the sound while maintaining a "progressive" edge , ended up for the group in abandoning many of the qualities that had brought them so far (...) Unsurprisingly, Strange and Beautiful only lived up to the first part of the title, and was only in alienating the faithful Fan base a success.) "
After the recordings, singer Midnight left the band. Crimson Glory broke up at the end of the tour following the release. A planned tour of Japan has been canceled.
