Streckenthin is a residential area in the Beveringen district of the city of Pritzwalk in the Prignitz district in the north-west of Brandenburg . Until December 31, 2002 Streckenthin was a district of Beveringen in what was then the Pritzwalk-Land office .

location

Streckenthin lies in the Prignitz on the Dömnitz river , around four kilometers northeast of Pritzwalk. Surrounding villages are Falkenhagen in the north, Mittelmühle and Sadenbeck in the northeast, Neu Krüssow in the east, Kiebitzberg and Beveringen in the south, Wegemühle , Pritzwalk and Hainhorst in the southwest, Hasenwinkel in the west and Birkenfelde in the northwest.

State road 154 is located immediately south of Streckenthin. West of Streckenthin is the Neustadt – Meyenburg railway line with the Pritzwalk Hainholz stop .

history

Streckenthin was first mentioned in 1356 as Lutken Streckenthin . The historic neighboring United Streckenthin was in the Middle Ages to the deserted village , so the additional "Lutken" accounted for later. In 1574 the place was only called Strekenthin . The place name is derived from the Slavic personal name Strekota.

From 1817 Streckenthin belonged to the Ostprignitz district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg . The manor district was dissolved on October 17, 1928 and the village was incorporated into the municipality of Beveringen . Of 25 July 1952 to the reunification was Streckenthin in county Pritzwalk in the GDR district of Potsdam and then to 1993 in the county Pritzwalk connected to the district Perleberg for Prignitz merged. On December 31, 2002, Beveringen was incorporated with Streckenthin to Pritzwalk .
