Beveringen is a district of the town of Pritzwalk in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is three kilometers east of Pritzwalk. The neighboring towns are Streckenthin and Kiebitzberg in the northeast, Alt Krüssow and Neu Kemnitz in the east, Koppel and Kemnitz in the southeast, Sarnow in the south, Neuhausen and Neuhof in the southwest, Pritzwalk in the west and Wegemühle in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Beveringen comes from the year 1368. In it the place was recorded under "Beveringhe". Until 1816 the place belonged to the district of Pritzwalk in the province of Prignitz ; part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg and then came to the Ostprignitz district . On October 17, 1928, the Streckenthin manor district was incorporated into Beveringen. From 1952 Beveringen belonged to the Pritzwalk district in the Potsdam district . Since December 6, 1993 the place is part of today's Prignitz district.

The list of architectural monuments in Pritzwalk contains two entries about the place. These include the Beveringen village church, built at the end of the 15th century.
