Alt Krüssow is a district of the town of Pritzwalk in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is 6 kilometers east of Pritzwalk and 15 kilometers west of Wittstock / Dosse . The neighboring towns are Sadenbeck in the north, Neu Krüssow in the northeast, Wilmersdorf in the east, Heiligengrabe in the southeast, Bölzke in the south, Neu Kemnitz in the southwest, Beveringen in the west and Kiebitzberg in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Alt Krüssow comes from the year 1367. Therein the place was recorded under "tu Crussow". Until 1816 the place belonged to the district of Pritzwalk in the province of Prignitz ; part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg and then came to the Ostprignitz district . From 1952 Alt Krüssow belonged to the Pritzwalk district in the Potsdam district . Since December 6, 1993 the place is part of today's Prignitz district.

The place, in its settlement structure a Rundling , had 96 inhabitants on January 1, 2013 on an area of ​​approx. 6.998 km². The formerly independent local congregation was incorporated on January 1, 2003.

Pilgrimage church Alt Krüssow

The former pilgrimage church Alt Krüssow was built in the 16th century and is located in the center of the village. The masonry of the sacred building , which is now a cultural monument , was built in the lower area from field stones , while further up the gable wall and parts of the church tower consist of brick masonry , especially for structural reasons . Occasionally, benefit concerts are held in the church to restore the monument.
