Stresemannstrasse 9–11 (Quedlinburg)
The houses at Stresemannstrasse 9-11 are a listed former educational institution in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . Today the property is operated as the Haus Benedikt der Lebenshilfe dormitory .
location
The facility is located south of the historic old town of Quedlinburg in the Süderstadt district . It is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register.
Architecture and history
The building ensemble was built in 1901 and 1902 according to plans by the architect Max Schneck . The design was done in the style of historicism , with the main building on Stresemannstrasse being particularly splendid. In 1929, a director's house was built in the southwestern part of the property.
The area also includes the remains of a park. The property fence also dates from 1902.
Today the house, which has been converted into a home for people with disabilities, offers 50 places, five of which are wheelchair accessible. The house is geared towards adults with intellectual and mental disabilities and multiple disabilities. The condition for admission is an employment relationship in the workshop for disabled people .
