Strilky (Ukrainian Стрілки ; Russian Стрелки / Strelki , Polish Strzyłki ) is a village in Staryj Sambir Raion in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine . The place is 11 kilometers south of the Rajons capital Staryj Sambir and 93 kilometers southwest of the Oblast capital Lviv on the river Dniester .
The village of Lopushanka-Chomyna (Лопушанка-Хомина) also belongs to the district council of the same name .
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1437 and initially belonged to the Ruthenian Voivodeship of the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , from 1772 to 1918 to Austrian Galicia . After the end of the First World War, the place came to Poland and from 1921 was officially part of the Stanislau , Powiat Turka , Gmina Strzyłki Voivodeship (from 1931 then to the Lemberg Voivodeship ). During the Second World War, Strilky was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR by the Soviet Union from September 1939 to June 1941 and then occupied by Germany (incorporated into the Galicia District ) until 1944 .
During the Soviet occupation, the place became the district center of the Strilky district of the same name from January 1940 , this was dissolved in 1959 and added to the district of Staryj Sambir.
After the end of the war, the place was again added to the Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Union and has been part of the independent Ukraine since 1991.
On November 19, 1904, a train station was opened in the village on what is now the Lviv – Sambir – Chop line, and from 1905 the line continued to Hungary via Sianki .
