Location and course
The brook has its source in the Bohemian Ore Mountains on the southern boundary of the approximately 23 hectare V rašelinách nature reserve , a peat bog that has been untouched by old mining . a. Bogberry , lingonberry and marsh pine are protected. It then flows first to the southeast. In 1989 the natural monument Přírodní památka Studenec was erected in a depression to protect the swamp plants that live here, such as B. the Drachenwurz set up. Then it turns to the southwest, where it joins the Leibitsch after another 2.5 kilometers. There used to be a glassworks here , which belonged to the village Leopoldovy Hamry ( Leopoldhammer ), which was lost when the Horka dam was built in 1967 . This gave its name to the approximately 4000 hectare Leopoldový Hamry Nature Park , in which the brook lies entirely.
