Studland is a small coastal village on the Isle of Purbeck in the county of Dorset , on the south coast of England .
It is known for its three beaches on Studland Bay (South Beach, Middle Beach and Knoll Beach) and for its Studland and Godlingston Heath nature reserve . Studland is about 4 km north of Swanage , and about 8 km south of the large towns of Poole and Bournemouth . Studland Bay is part of the Jurassic Coast (a World Heritage Site ).
Near Studland is Poole Harbor to the north, Corfe Castle to the west, Old Harry Rocks to the east and Ballard Down , Swanage Bay , Durlston Bay and Durlston Country Park to the south.
