The Voralpe or Voralm is a mountain in the Ybbstal Alps in the triangle of Lower Austria , Upper Austria and Styria .

The mountain has two main peaks, which are 1770  m above sea level. A. high stump wall on the border between Lower Austria and Upper Austria, which slopes down towards the southeast with a steep wall; and further southwest the 1727  m above sea level. A. high dance floor on the border between Lower Austria and Styria. In the saddle between the peaks is the triangle of three countries.

The Voralpe can be climbed from Hollenstein an der Ybbs or from Altenmarkt , partly via driveways, partly via trails, in around three hours of walking. The transition from one peak to the other takes around 45 minutes. The Eisenwurzenweg (Austrian long-distance hiking trail 08) also leads across the Alpine foothills.

The sculpture Dreiklang

The tri-border area

The triangle is located just south of the saddle between the stump wall and dance floor, the saddle is also called the Luckerte Mauer . On September 14, 2001, a metal sculpture named Dreiklang was set up on the dance floor , bearing the coats of arms of the three federal states. The following year on June 30th, this sculpture was blessed during a mountain mass.
