reception
The album received mostly positive reviews from critics .
Stephen Thomas Erlewine from Allmusic awards the album 4.5 stars out of five. He is of the opinion that the album is partly overrated by Nowell's death, but due to the musical variety, the album is "very enchanting" apart from a few recordings .
Sputnikmusic awards the highest rating with five points and particularly praises Nowell's guitar playing and the various styles used. The singles Same in the End , Santeria , Pawn Shop and Under My Voodoo are described as particularly successful.
Sublime also received the maximum number of five maximum stars from Punknews.org. The critic says that this album belongs in every record collection, this is mainly caused by Nowell's vocals and guitar, so that one does not hear that he recorded the album under the influence of drugs.
