Sudakaya is a reggae band founded in Ambato , Ecuador in 2002 . Her music is mainly influenced by reggae and ska , but also by calypso , rocksteady , salsa , ragga and drum and bass .

Career

After the band was founded in 2002 and various appearances in Ecuador, such as B. at the Quito Fest and the Fiesta de la Música in Quito , the first album Todo va bien was released in 2003 .

In September 2004 a South America tour followed with performances in Colombia , Peru , Chile and Argentina , where they shared the stage with the Argentinian musician Fidel Nadal . They also appeared in November 2004 as the opening act for Vicentico in Quito.

In 2005 further appearances followed in Argentina at the Oye Reggae and Cosquín Siempre Rock festivals in Córdoba , where they played with artists such as Flavio y la Mandinga ( Los Fabulosos Cadillacs ), Attaque 77 , Pablo Molina , Bersuit , Los Auténticos decadentes and Andrés Calamaro . Another tour through Ecuador with more than 40 appearances followed.

In 2007 the EP Selecta Combinación was published. It includes collaborations with the Belgian rap group Starflam ( Sólo recuerdos ) and the Colombian reggae band Alerta ( El valor de la amistad ), as well as the song Santita recorded for Amnesty International .
