Sue Platt

Sue Platt (actually Susan Mary Platt; born October 4, 1940 in the London Borough of Barnet ) is a former British javelin thrower and shot putter .

In 1958 she was fourth in the javelin throw for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff . In the same discipline she was seventh at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome.

In 1962 she retired in the javelin throw of the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade in the qualification. At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth , she won the javelin throw and was eighth in the shot put.

Each time in the javelin throw she was ninth at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, sixth in the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston in 1966 and came 15th at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City.

Eight times she was English champion in javelin throw (1959-1962, 1966-1969).
