Sugarfoot is an American western series that was produced between 1957 and 1961.
action
The series is about the adventures of lawyer Tom Brewster in the Oklahoma Territory . Brewster graduated from distance learning and is only partially up to the everyday life of the Wild West . From seasoned cowboys he is called so disparagingly "Sugarfoot". Brewster doesn't believe in firearms and prefers to defend himself with words or a lasso . He doesn't drink alcohol , but prefers to order a root beer in the saloon .
background
The series is based on the western The Sheriff Without a Colt , which Michael Curtiz shot in 1954 with Will Rogers Jr. as Tom Brewster . There is no connection, however, with the Randolph Scott -Western A stranger came to Arizona , whose original title was also Sugarfoot .
ABC showed Sugarfoot in rotation with the western series Cheyenne and Bronco . By means of plot overlaps, "Sugarfoot" also appeared in these two series as well as in the western series Maverick, also produced by William T. Orr .
Guest stars included Charles Bronson , Slim Pickens , Dennis Hopper and Kurt Russell .
