Will Hutchins

Will Hutchins (* 5. May 1930 in Los Angeles , California as Marshall Lowell Hutchason ) is an American actor .

Life

Hutchins attended college in Pomona , where he already took his first acting courses . After his military service , which he completed in the United States Army , he studied film at the University of California in Los Angeles. In 1956 he received a film contract with Warner Bros. and after a few guest roles in television series, he was cast for the lead role in the western series Sugarfoot . He also appeared as Tom "Sugarfoot" Brewster in episodes of the series Maverick , Cheyenne and through plot overlapsBronco up. After the series ended in 1961, he starred in the sitcom Hey, Landlord between 1966 and 1967. This was discontinued after the first season with 31 episodes. From 1968 to 1969 he played Dagwood Bumstead in thesitcom Blondie basedon the comic book of the same name . This series was discontinued after 13 episodes.

He made his feature film debut in 1957 in a supporting role not mentioned in the credits in the drama Bomber B-52 alongside Karl Malden and Natalie Wood . He played a major supporting role the following year in the comedy duds of the company alongside Andy Griffith . In the 1960s he starred in two Elvis Presley films and starred alongside Jack Nicholson in the western The Shooting . When his Hollywood career stalled, he occasionally appeared as a clown in the circus and was only seen occasionally on the screen. His later, small roles include an appearance in the adventure film Roar - The Lions Are Losing With Tippi Hedren and in the Western Maverick - The Colt on the Belt, an ace up the sleeve with Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster .

Hutchins is a second marriage, from his first marriage to Carol Burnett's younger sister he has one child.
