Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan ( Urdu حسن سمائل سید; * May 18, 1999 in Karachi ) is a Pakistani e-athlete who plays the Dota 2 discipline .

Career

Sumail Hassan has been playing the Defense of the Ancients series since he was eight, encouraged by his cousin Daniyal Zaidi . In Pakistan he played mostly in internet cafes . At 15, Sumail moved to the United States with his family . On January 5, 2015, Sumail was signed as a mid player by the Evil Geniuses . After a weak first tournament of his team and initial criticism, he and his team won the Dota 2 Asia Championships in February 2015 . This was followed by second placements in the joinDOTA MLG Pro League , at The Summit or at ESL One Frankfurt 2015 and a first place in the Dota Pit League . In early August, Sumail and his team won the Dota 2 championships, The International, endowed with over 18 million US dollars . Hassan is entitled to over 1.3 million US dollars of the winnings, with which he already won more than one million US dollars by playing a computer game at the age of 16. He was recognized by Guinness World Records as the youngest esportsman to achieve this milestone.

In the late summer of 2016, Hassan received a new contract with Evil Geniuses.
