The 2003/04 season was the fourth season of the Suomi-sarja as the third highest Finnish ice hockey league .

mode

In the main round, the league was divided into two groups with nine and ten teams, respectively. The teams in the north zone played 32 games each, the teams in the south zone 36 games each. The four best-placed teams in each group qualified for the playoffs, the two semi-final winners in turn qualified for the promotion round to the second-rate Mestis . The last two in each group had to compete in the relegation round. Their two losers then had to compete in the relegation for relegation.

Each team received two points for a win after regular time and after extra time, one point for a tie and defeat after extra time and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
