Kotkan Titaanit is a Finnish ice hockey club from Kotka, founded in 1974 . The team plays in the Suomi-sarja and plays their home games in the Ilona Areena .

history

The association was founded in 1974. Kotkan Titaanit took part in the 1995/96 season for the first time in the I-divisioona , the then second Finnish division. In the following season , however, the team rose again in the third class II-divisioona. From the 2000/01 season the team played in the Suomi-sarja , the new third Finnish division. In the 2006/07 season Titaanit became the master of the Suomi-sarja and then rose in the relegation to the second-class Mestis . In the second Mestis year, Kotka rose again in the 2008/09 season in the Suomi-sarja. A year later, he was even relegated to the fourth class II-divisioona. Since the 2012/13 season Titaanit has been back in the Suomi-sarja.
