Dave Stewart said he had the idea of a music group that would combine styles from different parts of the world when he was met by various styles of music in his home in Jamaica . He then got in touch with Mick Jagger. He liked the idea and they managed to win over the other band members for the project, so that the musicians met for jam sessions in a studio in Los Angeles . The band name is said to have come about by chance when Damian Marley was improvising and singing "Heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy, super heavy" to himself. A song with this text and the title Superheavy is on the first album of the same name by the vocal group.
