The 1978/79 season was the seventh season of the Superliga , the highest Spanish ice hockey division . Champion became the third time in the history of the CH Casco Viejo Bilbao .
Main round

In the main round, each of the five teams played a total of 16 games. The first place after the main round became champions. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
