Career

He began his footballing career at Dinamo Tiflis and later moved to Lokomotive Tiflis via Merani-91 Tiflis (now “FC Tiflis”) . There he received offers from several English clubs, his club levied a transfer fee of 5 million pounds sterling.

It was only after FIFA intervened in March 2001 that he switched to the Scottish club FC Dundee . After two seasons at Dens Park, the club got into a financial crisis in 2003 and Alex McLeish , manager of the Glasgow Rangers , brought the defender to Glasgow . In his first season with the Rangers, he came on over 35 missions, but then gradually fell back into the second line. On August 31, 2005 he was loaned to the Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League . On April 10, 2006, he signed a contract there. After numerous loan positions, he moved to Kayserispor in Turkey in the summer of 2011 . After three years he left this Central Anatolian club again.
