Suratgarh ( Hindi : सूरतगढ़) is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan .
The city is located in the Thar Desert in the far north of Rajasthan. The national highway NH 15 ( Sri Ganganagar - Bikaner ) passes Suratgarh. The district capital Sri Ganganagar is located 65 km north of Suratgarh, Bikaner is 155 km south-southwest. At the 2011 census, the population of Suratgarh was 70,536.
The city was founded by Maharaja Surat Singh von Bikaner .
