Susan Patterson (born October 11, 1955 in Sun Valley , Idaho ) is a former American alpine ski racer .

Patterson competed in the World Cup between 1974 and 1978 . She was able to place herself in the top ten six times. In 1976 she qualified for the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . There she finished 14th in the downhill race. Two years later, she finished 15th in downhill skiing at the 1978 World Ski Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

Patterson's brother Pete Patterson is also a retired ski racer.

Patterson was married to the cross-country skier and climber Ned Gillette. In 1998 both were ambushed on a climbing tour in Pakistan. Patterson survived, her husband died.
