Susanne Hauser (born January 24, 1946 Oberurnen ) is a Swiss artist.

Life and artistic work

Hauser suffered several car accidents in her youth and fell ill with polio . She studied education and practiced her profession until the 1970s. Parallel to her family phase, she learned stage painting at the Zurich Opera and had her first exhibitions in galleries in Zurich since 1992 . Further solo exhibitions and first visits to art fairs in Geneva and Zurich followed. A longer stay in New York developed her artistic content. The result were exhibitions in New York, Soho and the Swiss Institute New York and in a gallery in Philadelphia . In 2001, the year of the attack on New York , Hauser suffered another serious car accident that left her bedded for over half a year. After two years of complete recovery, the artist continued to win the Focus Prize of the Glarner Kunstverein and then the first prize for graphics for the Athens Olympics. Both prizes were associated with museum exhibitions.

For the 2011 commemorative year, “150 Years of the Glarus Fire ”, Hauser developed a drawn installation “constructive destruction” at the Kunsthaus Glarus . At the same time there were works on Darwinism ; the series “hearing the grass grow” shows the subtlety, the diversity of form and the creativity of creation. Work for the 2012 Dublin Biennale dealt with the cosmos. "Planets ... we are not alone" is a call to humility and a link between "science and fiction". The award for creative glass design was followed by an exhibition at the Murano Museum. In 2013 she was shown with a textile installation at the Florence Design Week. The “Fridas” app contains 50 drawings on the subject of the “social role of women”, based on the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo . The first monograph Dialogues between Time and Infinity shows the graphic work of the last seven years and was published for the 2015 solo exhibition at museumbickel.
