Susanne Reinker

Susanne Reinker (* 1963 ) is a German author and translator .

Reinker is a trained translator for French and English . After completing her studies, she first worked at the Goethe Institute , then later as a critic for the Fischer Film Almanach . She then worked for more than 10 years as a press spokeswoman and PR manager in the film industry, where she also had managerial responsibility and marketed German films abroad. At the age of 40 she gave up her previous job and devoted herself to writing.

She has been working as a freelance writer and translator since 2004. First, she published career guides based on her experience with work structures at home and abroad. In 2004 her first book, Das Job-Lexikon , was published in the series "Beck-Wirtschaftsberater" in the German paperback publishing house . In 2005, Ullstein Verlag published the guide Unkündbar !: How to make yourself indispensable for your boss , who became a bestseller and entered the business bestseller lists.

Her book Rache am Boss (2007), an analysis of strategies that employees use when they are disappointed and frustrated by the behavior of their superiors, was published by Econ Verlag and reached number 10 on the SPIEGEL bestseller list (SPIEGEL edition 11/2007) and was one of the 100 most successful non-fiction books of 2007.

Your next book, Relax, Girls! (2008) was a guide especially for women with tips on how to avoid stress in professional and private life. In her book The Sloth Strategy (2009), which was also published in paperback in 2010 , Reinke examined the behavior of employees who managed to make the best impression on their superiors with as little effort as possible.

In 2011 Reinker published her first novel Less Work, More Vegetables, More Sex (published 12/2011). As a translator she has a. a. the French bestseller Who Moves First Has Lost from Zoé Shepard translated into German.

Reinker is married to the architect Ari Hantke and commutes between her hometown of Düsseldorf and southern France .
