Susanne Valerie Granzer

Susanne Valerie Granzer (* 1950 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress, author, filmmaker and performer. She is professor emeritus for role design at the Max Reinhardt Seminar at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .

Life

After training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar Vienna from 1968 to 1971 , she worked for 17 years as an actress at the Theater in der Josefstadt , Burgtheater and Volkstheater Vienna , Theater Basel , Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , Schauspiel Frankfurt , Schillertheater Berlin as well as roles in film and television. Parallel to her engagements at the theater, Susanne Valerie Granzer studied philosophy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and the University of Vienna . She did her PhD in 1995 with Günther Pöltner at the University of Vienna.

Together with the philosopher Arno Böhler , she founded the wiener Kulturwerkstätte GRENZ_film in 1996 , within the framework of which 5 DVD books Philosophy in Pictures and lecture performances at home and abroad were created. Since 2005, Susanne Valerie Granzer has been a cooperation partner in several research projects of the FWF ( Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research ): 2005–2007 Materiality and Temporality of Performative Speech Acts (P17600), 2010–2013 Corporal Performance / Generating Bodies (TRP12-G21), 2014 –2017 Artist-Philosophers. Philosophy as Arts-Based Research (AR 275-G21). The Philosophy On Stage research festival was developed as part of these research projects. Granzer was involved in the BASE research center in India. There she led the research program "Arts-based-Philosophy" together with Arno Böhler. Cooperation partner was, among others, the University of Vienna.
