Susie Orbach (born November 6, 1946 in Chalk Farm , London ) is a British journalist and psychoanalyst . Orbach takes a feminist position in her publications .

Life

During her psychoanalytic training, Orbach was doing training analysis with Anne-Marie Sandler . After her death, she wrote an obituary for the British daily The Guardian .

Trivia

Orbach takes an active part in the public debate about ways out of the climate crisis ; In October 2018, for example, she and numerous other scientists signed an open letter in the Guardian accusing the British government of failing to protect the climate and calling for the decarbonisation of the economy. At the same time, she declared her support for the Extinction Rebellion , a grassroots movement calling for civil disobedience on the climate issue . She is also co-signatory of another open letter from December 2018, which emphasizes that the climate crisis is progressing faster than originally forecast and that politicians have failed to address the crisis. At the same time, it is a call to join movements like Extinction Rebellion and to practice non-consumption .
