Suska Döpp

Suska Döpp (born May 16, 1965 in Braunschweig ) is a German journalist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1985 at the Pascalgymnasium in Münster and a three-year stay in Australia and Southeast Asia, she studied Jewish Studies , Modern History and Eastern European History at the University of Cologne from 1988 to 1997 . For her master's thesis “Jewish Youth Movement in Cologne 1906 to 1938” she received the “Cologne Prize”.

She first gained journalistic experience as a freelancer in the local editorial office of the Kölnische Rundschau and for the Protestant church newspaper Der Weg .

From October 1999 she completed a traineeship in the newsroom of the Kölnische Rundschau. In 2000, she and her colleague Jens Meifert received the Theodor Wolff Prize in the “Local” category for the Price reduction of up to 23 percent” item .

Suska Döpp works for the online editorial team of WDR (as of March 2015). There she was jointly responsible for the portal “World Religions”, which was nominated for the Grimme Online Award in 2008, as well as for the Internet offer “Sound box” for children, which was awarded the Austrian State Prize (category: learning, information and knowledge), the Giga-Maus , the Eyes & Ears Award , the young ohren award and the digita 2010 award and was also nominated for the Grimme Online Award in 2010 .
