The road bridge with a total length of 8,206 m and six lanes spans the Yangtze River in Jiangsu , China near the cities of Suzhou , more precisely Changshu , and Nantong . The structure was officially opened around a year before the planned construction time at the end of 2008 after around five years on June 30, 2008.
