Sven Klimbacher (born September 12, 1981 in Sankt Veit an der Glan ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who last played at the EC Graz 99ers in the EBEL on the position of defender .

Career

Klimbacher gained his first experiences after the youth at the U18-B-World Championship 1999 for the Austrian national team , with the EC VSV and with the Team Telekom Austria in the season 1999/00. In 2000 and 2001, Klimbacher was again a member of the junior national team.

For the 2000/01 season he returned to EC Heraklith SV Villach before moving to the Black Wings Linz , where he played until the 2003/04 season and also won the championship. In 2004 and 2005, Klimbacher made his first appearance in a senior world championship for the senior national team. From the beginning of the 2004/05 season to the end of the 2007/08 season he was active for HC Innsbruck and from the 2008/09 season he played for the EC Graz 99ers .

Klimbacher moved to the Vienna Capitals for the 2012/13 season and stayed there until 2016, before signing a one-year contract with the Graz 99ers in summer 2016.
