Sven Lindhorst-Emme

Sven Lindhorst-Emme (* 1978 in Bielefeld ) is a German graphic designer and typographer . He teaches communication design at the Lette Verein Berlin as well as in some teaching assignments. B. at the Berlin University of the Arts .

Life

Lindhorst-Emme completed his apprenticeship as a lithographer in 1998 and studied communication design at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences from 2008 to 2011 . The design studio studio lindhorst-emme in Berlin specializes in book and poster design. It also has a focus on design for cultural institutions such as museums and galleries. There arise z. B. Corporate identities such as for the Weserburg Museum of Modern Art Bremen or exhibition design for the Spandau Citadel .

With the design of numerous posters and books, the studio won national and international design competitions and was represented at international poster biennials. In 2019 it won the prestigious Tokyo Type Directors Club award, it also has awards from the Type Directors Club New York, 100 Best Posters , Graphis New York Gold and Silver Awards, the Book Art Foundation for the Most Beautiful German Book as well as the German Photo Book Prize and German Design Award as well as an Art Directors Club Award 2016 in bronze. Lindhorst-Emme is a member of the Typedirectors Club New York and the association 100 Beste Plakate.

Both of the latter prizes with a book that he edited together with graphic designer Fons Hickmann . “Stop Berlin - Zeitgeist Medium Poster” ( ISBN 978-3-944721-56-9 ) is a project that he started together with Fons Hickmann. Posters by a total of 35 designers from Berlin were shown in exhibitions in Switzerland , Germany and the People's Republic of China , and the corresponding publication was published in 2015 by Seltmann + Söhne Verlag. Lindhorst-Emme is co-editor there alongside Fons Hickmann and the world format poster festival Switzerland.
