Sven Teuber (born October 30, 1982 in Nordhorn ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament since August 1, 2016 . Teuber is spokesman for the Rhineland-Palatinate SPD parliamentary group in the state parliament for labor and social affairs, demography and drugs.

Life

Teuber was born in Nordhorn on the Dutch border. He grew up with four young brothers in Nordhorn, Hamburg and Trier . Sven Teuber has been married to a half-Greek woman since 2012. They have two children together. He attended the Stadtflur elementary school in Nordhorn, the St. Antonius Bardel missions high school and the Blankenese high school (Abitur). Sven Teuber is a member of the Education and Science Union (GEW), the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , the German Child Protection Association Trier, the Local Agenda 21 Trier e. V., of the SCHMIT-Z e. V., Borussia Dortmund , KG Rote Funken Trier and KG Heuschreck.

In 2011, Sven Teuber graduated from the University of Trier with the first state examination in political science and German language and literature, which he began in 2004 for teaching at grammar schools. After a year as a substitute teacher at the Humboldt-Gymnasium Trier , he completed his legal clerkship at the Siebenpfeiffer-Gymnasium Kusel from 2012 to 2014 . From 2014 he worked here as a teacher and, among other things, a liaison teacher and was active in rebuilding the work of the anti-racism working group. Since July 2016 he has been a senior lecturer . D. on leave from school service because of his membership in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament.

Sven Teuber joined the SPD in Hamburg in February 2003 . From 2004 to 2015 Teuber was a member of the Trier-Süd local advisory board . Sven Teuber has been a member of the Trier City Council since 2009 and is also chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. At the age of 26, he was considered one of the youngest leading candidates and parliamentary group leader of the SPD in a major German city. He is currently the longest serving active parliamentary group chairman in the Trier City Council. Since 2013 he has also held the office of party chairman of the Trier SPD and has also been an assessor on the Rhineland-Palatinate SPD state executive since the end of 2014 . In August 2016, he succeeded Prime Minister Malu Dreyer , who resigned from her state parliament mandate.

As part of his work as a member of the state parliament in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, Sven Teuber has been the social policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group since February 2017 and also spokesman for work, drugs and demography since February 2019. He represents the SPD parliamentary group. a. in the committees for social affairs and labor, equality and the advancement of women (until February 2019) as well as in the committee for health, care, demography of the state parliament. He also represents the SPD on the State Parliament's Tourism Study Commission and on the Board of Trier of Trier University.
