In addition, tutoring is offered and there is a team of mediators. The facility has a canteen , a school shop, a media library, a school app and a learning office. In the 2017/18 school year, around 1000 pupils attended the school and were taught by 81 teachers.
history
The Kusel high school was built in the 1960s. In 1985 a central library was expanded. In 2001 it was expanded to include six general classrooms, a computer room and a lounge. The state granted a total of DM 2.1 million in grants for the expansion. In the 1998/1999 school year the number of students was 1158.
Around 1998, an anti-racism working group was set up on the initiative of a student at the Kusel high school. In 2000, due to the activities of the Stahlhelm and the efforts of the NPD to acquire a building for training purposes in the Kusel district, a panel discussion with members of the state parliament on the subject of right-wing radicalism was organized. In 2002 the AG allied itself with the Kusel alliance against right-wing extremism . Since then, the working group has organized music events against the right, invited contemporary witnesses from the right-wing scene to its school and regularly collected clothes for the Kusel partner group in Brzeg in Poland.
After the headmaster Angelika Gröneveld-Olthoff suggested giving the Kusel grammar school a name after the extensive renovation in 2014, a number of suggestions were discussed in public. On August 1, 2015, the school was named after Philipp Jakob Siebenpfeiffer (1789–1845), who was a German lawyer, political journalist and co-initiator of the Hambach Festival , on the recommendation of the school board committee by decision of the district council .
