Sydoriwka ( Ukrainian Сидорівка ; Russian Сидоровка Sidorowka ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Cherkassy Oblast with about 800 inhabitants (2001).
The village, founded at the beginning of the 16th century, has been part of the rural community of the village of Stebliw in the Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi district on the border with Kiev Oblast since November 2016 .
In the village there is the Sydoriwka Park, a monument of landscape gardening.
The village is located 10 km west of the community center Stebliv, 27 km west of the district center of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi and 95 km west of the Oblast center Cherkassy .
Personalities
- Wassyl Symyrenko (1835–1915), Ukrainian industrialist and patron. In the 1860s, Symyrenko built a sugar factory in the village, equipped with state-of-the-art, partly self-developed machines . This work was the most productive of its kind in the entire Russian Empire at the time. He also founded and managed one of the best Ukrainian theater companies of the time.
- Borys Fedorenko ( Борис Федоренко ), Ukrainian painter. He was born in the village on February 23, 1946.
