Stebliw

Stebliw (Ukrainian Стеблів ; Russian Стеблёв / Stebljow , Polish Steblów ) is an urban-type settlement in the Cherkassy Oblast in central Ukraine with about 3500 inhabitants.

The place is located on the banks of the Ros River about 16 km from Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi .

In 1036 Yaroslav the Wise built a fortification here. This stood there until the Mongol invasion of the Rus . After that, Cossacks settled here . These took part in the Khmelnytskyi uprising .
