Verkhnyachka

Verkhnyachka ( Ukrainian and Russian Верхнячка ) is an urban-type settlement in the west of the Ukrainian Cherkassy Oblast with around 3,600 inhabitants (2019).

Verkhnyachka is located in Chrystynivka Raion on the banks of the Umanka ( Уманка ), a 43 km long tributary of the Jatran ( Ятрань ) 210 km southwest of Cherkassy and 5 km northeast of the district center Chrystynivka . The village, first mentioned in writing in 1646 , received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1960.
