Syed Amin Aljeffri

Dato 'Syed Amin Aljeffri (born November 10, 1947 in Sungai Petani ) is a Malaysian entrepreneur .

Life

Syed Amin Aljeffri comes from a Malay family who traces their origins back to the Prophet Mohammed and therefore bears the honorary title Syed . Aljeffri was born in Sungai Petani, in the Malaysian state of Kedah . He attended primary school in Sungai Petani and then the traditional Victoria Institution in Kuala Lumpur . In 1968 he began studying economics at Malaya University, specializing in accounting . In 1971 he graduated with a bachelor's degree. He started his professional career at Esso Malaysia . In September 1973 he qualified as a Certified Accountant and worked for the international accounting firm Touche Ross & Co. in Vancouver . In 1976 he became a Senior Accountant at ESSO Malaysia. From 1979 he worked as a financial analyst at ESSO Eastern Inc. in Houston before returning to Malaysia as Accounts Manager at ESSO Production Malaysia.

In the same year he founded his own auditing company Aljeffri & Co. (today AljeffriDean ) with diversifications in tax advice, secretarial services and management consulting. From 1991 to 1992 he was chairman of the board of directors of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and chairman of the boards of numerous companies listed on the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange . From 1994 he was Vice President, later President of the Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia .

For his services he was awarded the honorary title Dato ' . In 2003 he was appointed Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Malaysia.

Positions

Syed Amin Aljeffri's basic idea is that Malays should internationalize in terms of economic life rather than expect international companies to adapt to Malaysia. He propagates the companies of his group of companies as role models because they offer complete and integrated services. For four years he published a column on economic issues in Malaysia in the Malay language newspaper Utusan Malaysia . He is also the author of a Malay-language book on management with the title Sekilas pandang: gaya pengurusan masa kini ( At a glance: current management methods ).
