Syltfunk - Sölring Radio was a commercial private local radio in Tinnum on Sylt in Schleswig-Holstein , as well as the regional radio for locals and guests in the area of northwestern North Friesland . It was named after the dialect Sölring (Sylter Frisian).

history

In 2009 the station began broadcasting over the Internet. On June 1, 2016, Syltfunk recorded its program on VHF , making it the first private local radio station in Schleswig-Holstein with a 24-hour program.

When setting up its production and broadcasting infrastructure, Syltfunk relied on an overall concept from the Leipzig full-service provider Divicon Media.

On July 31, 2018, Syltfunk filed for bankruptcy at the Niebüll district court . The broadcast operation was maintained until February 2019. On February 11th, Syltfunk was merged with the previous channel Antenne Sylt , which up to now could only be heard via DAB in Hamburg and can only be heard on the island as an event radio via FM in summer. With the merger, the two VHF frequencies from Syltfunk are available for the new station, which has previously taken over the main program of Radio 21 in Garbsen .

program

According to the broadcaster, the focus was on regional daily events from the broadcasting area, especially in the areas of information, culture, tourism, politics, sport and education. This included all socially relevant topics with hourly news from the DPA news agency and half-hourly regional news on weekdays from our own editorial team. In addition, information on traffic control and disaster control was offered. The music program was tailored to the target groups. In addition to German, the program also featured daily contributions in North Frisian and Low German .

The station also used the Radio Data System (RDS) for program-related information.
