Sylvain "Sly" Beauchamp (born April 10, 1964 , in Montréal , Québec ) is a former French - Canadian ice hockey player , coach and official who played on the position of the striker . In Germany he played for the Iserlohner EC , the EHC Neuwied and the ESC Erfurt in the second and third division.

Career

Sylvain Beauchamp began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Québec Major Junior Hockey League , in which he was active from 1981 to 1984 for the Voisins de Laval and Olympiques de Hull .

In Europe , the French- Canadian was initially on the ice for French clubs for nine years . He laced up for two years from the 1988/89 season for HC Amiens Somme from Ligue Magnus , the top French division, the ice skates and then moved within the league to HC Briançon . From the 1991/92 season, the striker played five seasons for ASG Angers - first in the second-rate division 1 and after promotion in 1993 in the Ligue Magnus.

Then Beauchamp played in the second-rate first division in Germany , in 1996/97 initially for a year at Iserlohner EC and then for one and a half seasons at its league competitor EHC Neuwied , with whom he won the first division championship in 1998 . He ended his career at ESC Erfurt in the Oberliga , where he completed two and a half seasons before ending his active career in 2001 at the age of 37.

International

For France , Beauchamp took part in the B World Championships in 1990 and 1991 . In 14 games he scored three goals and gave three assists with 14 penalty minutes.

Trainer

Sylvain Beauchamp was head coach and general manager of the Montagnards de Sainte-Agathe from the Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior AAA du Québec from 2008 to 2011 . His son Joey also played there during this time. Beauchamp runs the Studio62 fitness studio in Sainte Agathe des Monts.
