Synagogue (Cavaillon)
The synagogue in Cavaillon , a French commune in the Vaucluse department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region , was originally built in the 15th century. The synagogue on Rue Hébraïque has been a protected monument ( Monument historique ) since 1924 .
The 1772 rebuilt to 1774 synagogue is located on the first floor and includes furniture in the Louis XV style and a Jewish- comtadinisches Museum. The medieval tower is the only remnant of the 15th century synagogue building.
The lower hall, which used to be the meeting place for women, now houses the museum's collections.
