The synagogue in Rakovník (German Rakonitz ), a district town in the Czech Republic in the Central Bohemian Region , was built in 1763/64. The derelict synagogue has been a protected cultural monument since 1958 .

history

The baroque synagogue has been reconstructed several times. Today it serves as a concert hall . Until the 1950s, the building was used as a place of worship for the Hussite Church .

Above the stone portal is the gilded Hebrew inscription: "This is the gate to God, the righteous will pass through."
