The synagogue in Kirchheim an der Weinstrasse , a local community in the Palatinate district of Bad Dürkheim , was built between 1884 and 1890. The profaned synagogue is located at Hintergasse 29.

history

The synagogue in neo-Romanesque style was built according to plans by the district building officer Johann Lehner from Frankenthal . The street front is structured by pilaster strips . There is a risalit on the east facade .

The synagogue was desecrated during the November pogrom in 1938 , but the building was preserved. In 1939 it came into the possession of the Kirchheim community. In 1945 it was transferred back to the Jewish Community of the Rhine Palatinate , which sold it again in the 1960s. Around 1970 the building was converted into a residential building, with a false ceiling being drawn into the synagogue room.
