Szalowa is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Łużna in the Powiat Gorlicki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .
geography
The place is located northwest of the mountain Maślana Góra (747 m) in the Low Beskids .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1357. In 1375 a Roman Catholic parish was mentioned.
In the 16th century the village belonged to the Szalowski family, who had to flee to Transylvania after 1658 as zealous Arians .
During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Szalowa became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Szalowa came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .
From 1975 to 1998 Szalowa was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
