Rudolf von Dresky

Rudolf Balthasar Christoph von Dresky (born June 1, 1776 in Glatz ; † November 18, 1852 in Breslau ) was a Prussian major general and 2nd in command of the Neisse fortress .

Life

origin

He was the son of Rudolf Ferdinand August von Dresky (* March 17, 1740, † February 26, 1810) and his wife Charlotte Albertine, née Bock (* 1755). His father was a Rittmeister a. D. , most recently in the cuirassier regiment "von Seydlitz" as well as Prussian salt factor and postmaster in Glatz . The sister Sophie (1752-1813) was married to Major General Friedrich Wilhelm von Funck .

Military career

Dresky occurred on July 28, 1790, Corporal Corporal in the Infantry Regiment "from Goetzen" the Prussian army and became the on March 7, 1793 Ensign appointed. During the Wars of Liberation , Dresky was wounded in the battle of Großgörschen , fought in the skirmishes near Danigkow, Alsleben, Wettin and the siege of Erfurt . He was wounded in the battle at Jeanvillers and earned the Iron Cross, 2nd class. Later he was with Aubervillers and for the battle at Belle Alliance Dresky was awarded the Iron Cross First Class.

After the war he was promoted to major on April 6, 1816 , received the service cross in 1825 and was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 30, 1832 . On March 30, 1834, Dresky was appointed 2nd in command of the Neisse fortress. In this position, he was on 30 March 1835 for Colonel promoted before his on March 4, 1837 Farewell to the statutory board under presentation of the character received as a major general. He died in Breslau on November 18, 1852.

Dresky married Pauline Fagalde on February 1, 1816 in Düsseldorf (* April 21, 1800; † August 23, 1845). The couple had several children:
