Szymon Pawłowski (politician)

Szymon Jerzy Pawłowski (born December 5, 1978 in Sanok ) is a Polish politician of the League of Polish Families .

Pawłowski graduated from the Cracow University of Economics in 2002 . He joined the All-Polish Youth in 1998 and the League of Polish Families in 2001. From 2002 to 2005 he was a member of the Warsaw City Council. In 2004 he ran unsuccessfully in the 2004 European elections in Poland . In the 2005 parliamentary elections , Pawłowski was elected a member of the 5th Sejm with 7984 votes from the list of the League of Polish Families.

From July 10 to November 4, 2007, Pawłowski was chairman of the parliamentary faction of the League of Polish Families in the Sejm. In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 , he got 1,454 votes and thus missed re-entry into the Sejm.

From 2005 to 2007 Pawłowski was editor of the Racja Polska newspaper . Until 2009 he worked in Telewizja Polska .

controversy

The newspaper Fakt , which belongs to Axel Springer Polska (a subsidiary of the German Axel Springer Group), has published photos of Bogusław Sobczak and Szymon Pawłowski with uplifted hands, calling them Nazi MPs . The league announced in a statement that the author of the article would be tried in the next few days for defamation. In a joint statement, Pawłowski and Sobczak said it would be unacceptable for a German tabloid to discredit Polish MPs from the formation most determinedly defending the Polish national interest in such a horrible way .

Private life

Pawłowski is Wojciech Wierzejski's brother-in-law. He is married and has a daughter and a son.
