Türkenfeld is a district of the municipality of Hohenthann in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Türkenfeld formed an independent municipality until 1972.
location
Türkenfeld is located about one and a half kilometers northwest of Hohenthann on State Road 2143.
history
In Büchlholz on the road from Hohenthann to Türkenfeld, there are barrows that were dug in the Hallstatt period (between 650 and 450 BC). Turtinvelt is first mentioned in a document at the beginning of the 11th century . The Turtenfeld family probably died out in 1296.
The later owners of the Hofmark Türkenfeld changed frequently. Apart from the presumably former castle chapel, there are no more traces of the former castle. From the Hofmark in the Kingdom of Bavaria, the Patrimonial Court II. Class Türkenfeld, formed from the courts of Türkenfeld and Unkofen , emerged. The patrimonial jurisdiction in Bavaria ended in 1848.
In 1818 the community of Türkenfeld was formed. The topographical-statistical handbook of the Kingdom of Bavaria from 1867 mentions the municipality of Türkenfeld in the district office of Rottenburg and the district court of Rottenburg with 219 inhabitants and 76 buildings in the districts of Aign, Heiligenbrunn , Hohenreith, Irlmühle, Schmidsberg and Türkenfeld.
On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Türkenfeld, which belonged to the Rottenburg an der Laaber district , was incorporated into Hohenthann as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . Its last mayor was Josef Müller († 2010) from April 17, 1968 to June 30, 1972. Eicher tractor races have been held in Türkenfeld since 1995 and are organized by local Eicher friends. The district of Türkenfeld had 220 inhabitants on December 31, 2009.
