TI vs. TIP is the fifth studio album by the American rapper T.I. Already in the first week the album sold almost 470,000 copies in the USA and almost reached gold status. The style of the record ranges from typical southern hip-hop to gangsta rap . It was released on July 2, 2007 in the UK and a day later in the United States.

Emergence

Regarding the title of the album, TI stated that it was "a fight within himself". He takes the name "TIP" from himself because it was his previous pseudonym . However, he had dropped this stage name, otherwise confusion could arise between him and the American rapper Q-Tip .

His album features guest appearances by famous musicians such as Eminem , Busta Rhymes , Jay-Z , Nelly and Wyclef Jean .

Chart placement

In the first week after the start of sales, 468,000 copies of the CD were sold and entered the Billboard charts at number one. The album was able to hold its position in the second week and sold another 175,000 copies. As a result, it achieved gold status and became the best-selling album of 2007. Two weeks after climbing to first place, the record slipped to third place. At that time, 738,000 copies had already been sold.
