TC Augsburg

The TC Augsburg is a German tennis club from Augsburg . As the TCA tennis facility is located in the Siebentischwald , the club is often referred to as the TC Augsburg Siebentisch . The women’s team of the TCA meanwhile played in the 2nd Bundesliga , and Philipp Kohlschreiber also began his tennis career at the TCA. In 2011 TC Augsburg was named "Bavarian Tennis Club of the Year" by the Bavarian Tennis Association .

Tennis facility

The tennis facility of the TC Augsburg is on the edge of the Siebentischwald in the immediate vicinity of the botanical garden and the zoo . The TCA has a total of 19 outdoor courts, 16 of which are approved for competition. There is also a hall with four clay courts on the site. From May 14th to 16th, 1971, the quarter-final of the Davis Cup between Germany and Austria was played on the tennis facility of the TCA , which won the German selection 4-1.

Men's team

The first men's team played for years alternately at the level of the district league Swabia or the state league , but then made the leap into the Bayern league .

Women's team

The first women's team played at times in the 2nd Bundesliga and even just barely missed promotion to the Bundesliga in the 2012 season with second place . The team currently plays in the Regionalliga Süd-Ost .
