TSG Rohrbach

The TSG Rohrbach (officially gymnastic and sporting community Heidelberg-Rohrbach , Heidelberg registered association) is a sports club from Heidelberg . In the 1940s and 50s, the club played in soccer in the 1st Baden Amateur League , the highest amateur league at the time. With around 3000 members, TSG is the largest sports club in Heidelberg. In addition to competitive and popular sports, TSG operates its own children's sports school (consisting of two exercise crèches and a sports kindergarten ) and a club fitness studio in the Rohrbach district of Heidelberg.

history

TSG Rohrbach was founded in 1934 through the merger of the gymnastics club TV Rohrbach (founded in 1889) and the football club FG Rohrbach (founded in 1919). In 1938, the second gymnastics club from the Rohrbach district of Heidelberg joined the TSG: TB Rohrbach. However, this left the sports community in 1950 and re-founded as a club.

In the 1990s, three more clubs and sports clubs were integrated into TSG:

  • 1997 - Joins the softball team of the Heidelberg Hedgehogs
  • 1998 - Joined the Heidelberg Fencing Club.

In 1989, TSG Rohrbach celebrated its anniversary “100 years of gymnastics and sport in Rohrbach”, which goes back to the year when the parent club TV Rohrbach was founded.

The first soccer team of TSG Rohrbach played from 1946 to 1953 as well as in the season 1955/56 in the 1st amateur league Baden , the then highest amateur league . The gentlemen have only played at district level in recent years. In 2012, part of the football department split off as FG Rohrbach 2012 . Since then, the men's club has no longer been playing. But he still takes the women and juniors into play. The women have played the most successfully in recent years. Since 2004 you can find them in the association league or higher. In 2011 they were promoted to runner-up in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and stayed there until 2013.

Training grounds and facilities

The TSG Rohrbach training area is located in Rohrbach (Heidelberg) in Erlenweg. The club house of TSG, which was founded in 1999, has its own restaurant and two bowling alleys. A soccer field with a tartan track is attached to the club area . Since 1976, TSG has also shared a sports hall with the Heidelberg International Comprehensive School. In the years 1979–1980 the clubhouse was rebuilt and four tennis courts were built. In 1997 the club area was expanded to include three beach volleyball courts. In the following years, other sports fields were added, including a baseball field and a boules area. In addition to the clubhouse, TSG Rohrbach has rented space for the fencers in Heidelberg's old town. In 2004, a warehouse in the Rohrbach district was converted into a club's own sports center for fitness and health. The TSG office has been located here since then.

Movement crèche and sports kindergarten

In 2007 TSG Rohrbach opened the first movement day nursery in Germany and a sports kindergarten. As the general goal of these sports facilities, TSG names "playful introduction and the resulting motivation to grow up with exercise and sport". In 2009, TSG Rohrbach received the small "Star of Sports" in silver from the state of Baden-Württemberg for the movement crèche.
